MPlayer: A movie and animation player that supports a wide range or codecs an
d file formats, including MPEG 1/2/4, DivX 3/4/5, Windows Media 7/8/9, RealAudio/Video up to 9, Quicktime 5/6, and Vivo 1/2. It has many MMX/SSE (2)/3DNow(Ex) optimized native audio and video codecs, but allows using XAnim’s and RealPlayer’s binary codec plugins, and Win32 codec DLLs. It has basic VCD/DVD playback functionality, including DVD subtitles, but supports many text-based subtitle formats too. For video output, nealy every exising interface is supported. It’s also able to convert raw/divx/ mpeg4 AVI (pcm/mp3 audio), and even video grabbing from V4L devices. From MPlayer.
Go to->Control Center->Yast
Click On Software->Community Repository
Check On Packman Repository .
YAST will then automatically setup the repositories for you. During the setup process, you will be asked if you want YAST to import the gpg keys for the repositories you chose and you need to select “yes”.

Wait…..
Now,
Go to Yast->Click on Software->Software Manager.For Some Minutes.
Search For mplayer.
Now there are Lots of Softwares are Listed .
Select What r Required.
MPlayer(1.orc2)
mplayer-plug-in(3.50)
libvisual-plugins(0.4.0)
You Can Also Select Optional Multimedia Packages Like : smplayer(0.5.21) and smplayer-debuginfo(0.5.21) or gnome-mplayer(0.5.4) and gnome-mplayer-debuginfo(0.5.4)
Now After Selecting Packages Click On Accept.
An Installation Will automatically Start Preforming Wait For Some Time.
Now You r Done.
Open & Play :-
Go to ->Computer->More Applications->Click on Multimedia->Mplayer.
Enjoy Mplayer.

Thanks for all the help. Mplayer rocks and your installation description here indeed help me a lot. I had tough time installing Mplayer as well as VLCplayer on my opensuse 10.3. probably gone wrong with few plugins when i installed first time.now after removing and installing again Mplayer plays terrific.
